Week 2: Oscar the Timebug

Yep, no blog posts for a while because surprise, parenting a newborn takes a lot of time and effort! After our blissful first week at home, suddenly Oscar started to wake up and need more TLC from his parents. Who knew that a creature who only eats, sleeps, poops, pees, and not much else, requires nearly 24/7 attention?  Oh yeah, I know who knows - every single parent on the planet.  Thus, no blog posts.

I like to call Oscar my "little bug" and "little gnome".  As mentioned before, his umbilical cord stump was extra stinky, so in the beginning we called Oscar the Stinkbug.  Eventually he migrated to Cutiebug and variations on that.  Lately we've come to calling him the Timebug, the adorable little bug who sucks up time faster than he sucks up milk.  (and trust me, you've rarely seen this healthy of a baby, he eats A LOT)  We can all blame the Timebug for the absence of blog posts!  It's fun to blame babies for things, because they can't fight back and you'll instantly forgive them for any and all transgressions.

That said, some good blog writings are coming, but since people are really interested in seeing pictures, here they come... starting with a nice selection of Week 2 photos (Aug 19-25).

tummy time - sometimes good for building neck strength, often traumatic

Oscar's first family visitors were Andria's parents,
Georgeann (aka Yaya) and Tom (aka Papa).
Yaya loves to hold Oscar.

First book: Hop on Pop.
A portent of what is to come.

Tom and Georgeann spent much of their visit showering Oscar with love,
and taking very excellent care of us and doing house chores too.

Setting off on the first walk around the lake

It didn't take long for The Man to send Oscar
his social security card.

First Scrabble game.
Oscar is an expert at the 2-letter words that Tom hates so much.

Flibbits from Daddy!
